Hear the tales of the Schenck Family of Matteawan—now Beacon—and how they formed the village of Matteawan along the Fishkill Creek that grew into a bustling city of factories from river to mountain. This tour is aprox. 1.5 hours long and will begin50 Van Nydeck Ave, in front of the Madam Brett Homestead Museum, winding through the streets and pathways of the old factories along the creek. Our guide will share stories as well as share historical images.
